Hi, my name is Harry. I am 3 years old from Manchester. I need your help to support Just4Children so that following life changing surgery I can have intensive physio aftercare to help improve my ability to walk. My dream is to run and jump like my friends!
Harry was born at 42 weeks by emergency section. In spite of a difficult birth and a significant infection afterwards resulting in short stay in NICU, Harry’s development caused no concerns until he failed to start walking.
At 18 months old Harry wasn’t walking and we realised something was wrong. After many tests Harry was diagnosed with Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy at 2 years old.
Harry is a happy and determined little boy who brings joy to so many people. He loves horses and loves playing football. Harry falls often, particularly if he tries to run. He cannot jump (despite how hard he tries) and he gets tired very easily, relying on his family or buggy to transport him. His left leg significantly turns in and he walks on his tiptoes. We are starting to notice his legs now ache as he’s getting older too. He wears AFO’s (splints) all day every day.
Harry has his whole life ahead of him and we want to ensure he has the best future he can have which includes keeping up with his peers and joining in everyday activities. SDR is a procedure which can reduce spasticity and give improve Harry’s mobility.
We are fundraising for Just4Children to help fund 2 years intensive physio after care following SDR surgery. This part is vital to the surgery being successful and making a difference.
Any support you can offer is more than appreciated and we will document his journey for you all to follow.
