Just4Children are fundraising for therapies and equipment to help Ronnie aged 5 from Preston in Lancashire reach his full potential after brain injury at birth.

In 2018 our beautiful baby boy Ronnie was born unresponsive at full term and was starved of oxygen (something called HIE). He was taken to NICU where he was cooled for 72 hours.

On day 2 we were told to fear the worst and that he may not wake up as his organs had started to fail but being the true warrior he is, within 24 hrs he was showing signs of improvement. On day 13 we left the hospital with our baby boy.

Subsequently, his MRI showed a brain injury which has resulted in him having Epilepsy and Dystonic Cerebral Palsy effecting all four limbs.

He is now two years old and cannot sit up, roll over, feed himself and can only say one word which is ‘Hiya’. He relies on us for everything he does even though it’s so frustrating for him as he wants to be able to do more.

We are fundraising for Just4Children to give Ronnie the best life possible. This includes therapies, HBOT, equipment and hopefully weeks of intensive physiotherapy abroad.

With previous fundraising we have bought a bath seat, a seat that can be taken out and about and a specialist buggy, all of which aren’t available via the NHS. We have also been able to have oxygen therapy sessions, where Ronnie breathes in 100% oxygen to help heal brain cells, and therapy at Snowdrop, which is a neuroplasticity programme. Eventually we would like to go to the USA where they do an intensive world renowned physio course for 3 weeks which alone costs 9000 dollars.

Many thanks for all your donations. You have no idea what it means to Ronnie.

Chris and Joanne
