Just4Children needs to raise funds for specialist, intensive therapies including physiotherapy, strength training, speech and communication, rhythmic movement therapy and more at various centres across the UK and further afield to give Athion a better quality of life.
Let me introduce my gorgeous, happy, cheeky boy Athion AKA Baby Sloth.
Athion is 18 months old now from Northampton and has Cerebral Palsy that affects his whole body and his ability to move, eat, speak and play. Without full support he is unable to do any of these things for himself.
We do not know why or what caused Athion’s brain damage. He was just made this way. His pregnancy and birth were no different to my other 2 children and we didn’t realise there was anything different until he was around 4 months old and he wasn’t hitting the usual milestones.
We nicknamed him Baby Sloth as he does everything in his own time…no rush.
Athion loves to watch his friends and siblings run around and play and I would love for him to be able to join them one day.
With daily therapy and physio Athion is progressing slowly and works so hard – and always with a smile on his face. I want to be able to give him every opportunity to achieve his maximum potential, whatever that may be.
Just4Children are raising funds for specialist, intensive therapies including physiotherapy, strength training, speech and communication, rhythmic movement therapy and more at various centres across the UK and further afield. These therapies are not funded by the NHS and cost up to £10,000 per year. They are crucial to further Athion’s abilities and help him to have the childhood he deserves.
My Baby Sloth…Don’t hurry, be happy!
