Rubi Our Warrior Princess

Rubi has cerebral palsy and Just4Children are raising money to for equipment and physiotherapy that will improve her mobility and improve her strength for a better quality of life.

Rubi is 5 years old from London. She has left sided hemiplegia Cerebral Palsy.

Rubi makes us so proud with her happy nature, perseverance, determination and love of adventure! Rubi was diagnosed at 2 years after she could not walk without tripping over her left foot as it was always in an inward position and she was not using her left hand unless prompted to. Since Rubi was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy we have had to pay privately for physiotherapy as it is not available to her on the NHS. Rubi needs this to keep improving her mobility as she grows and has specialised exercises for children with Cerebral Palsy. Rubi also needs strength training sessions which is building her muscle strength to help her with her balance, stability and stamina as she gets tired very easily.

As Rubi grows she will need to continue these therapies and needs specialist equipment including a Galileo vibration plate and strength training equipment for the home. We would also like to get Rubi a new splint as the one given to us made Rubi’s inward step worse making her fall over even more.

Rubi is an amazing character and we just want to give her the best opportunities in life and keep her as mobile and pain free as we possibly can. She is such a ray of sunshine in our lives and we want to keep her spirit up as she grows up and faces challenges caused by her Cerebral Palsy.

When I ask Rubi what does Cerebral Palsy mean? Her reply to me is “I am strong”. This is the way I want her to continue believing and these therapies and equipment will support her in feeling this way and continue to make her stronger and give her a better quality of life.

We are extremely grateful of the support Rubi has received and we thank you so much for your love and continued support on our journey.
