Just4Children are hoping to raise funds towards private therapy sessions to give Quinten the best chance of learning to walk unaided.
Our 2 year old son, Quinten, was born near Notingham 8 weeks early following a healthy pregnancy. He spent 2 weeks in NICU and was discharged with no concerns. All was well until we noticed Quinten didn’t hit his ‘sitting’ milestone at 9 months. He was appointed an NHS Physio and OT soon after and this is the first time we were told about the possibility of Cerebral Palsy. I pushed for an MRI scan, which was done at 14 months, and it confirmed CP on both sides of Quinten’s brain. Even though the news was devastating, we finally had answers. The journey since has been life changing, and full of unknowns but Quinten has been making progress every day and we are beyond proud to be his parents.
I often say ‘everyday is a physio day’ and it really is! Quinten needs to do stretching exercises 3 times a day, he will be starting an at-home Vibration Plate Therapy programme very soon and we are always on hand to help support him with sitting and walking practise.
As parents, we want to do all we can to give Quinten the best chance of independence. We’d love to provide as much opportunity as possible: physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and hippotherapy to name a few, but these sessions are expensive. If you can help in any way, we will be so very grateful.
Many thanks, Jennie & Jansen
