Luna needs specialist equipment and therapies to give her a quality of life and independence she deserves.
Our Princess Luna is nearly 3 from Faversham in Kent. When she was born she suffered with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy. Subsequently she has suffered severe brain damage.
Due to Luna’s brain injury, she has evolving cortical visual impairment, and quadriplegic cerebral palsy which affects her mobility and ability to communicate. She is entirely dependent on others. Luna also has a younger brother who loves her very much.
Luna needs ongoing therapy to provide her with the best opportunity of gaining some independence and functional skills.
Since she was born she has been seen for various therapies thus far only provided by the NHS: physiotherapy, occupational therapy & visual impairment visits.
Unfortunately, Luna’s conditions are life long and therefore she will need continuous therapy, and specialist equipment which the nhs don’t provide and all of which are costly.
Stem cell therapy has had a lot of great outcomes for children in Luna’s position. And anything to help my little angel enjoy her life and get the best from it would be more than she could ask for. We are awaiting responses from Panama to provide this service.
We want also to be able to give her the opportunity to have private physio and intensive blocks of Anat Baniel Method therapy.
We hope too to provide Luna with the appropriate specialist equipment she deserves to promote independence and comfort and to avoid postural problems.
Luna inspires me as a parent and person to do the best I can for myself and for her. She fights and struggles everyday for the things we take for granted which is heartbreaking and feels so unfair. She is our world, so we want to be able to give her the world.
