Just4Children are raising money for SDR surgery and therapy to help Phoebe walk and lead a fuller life.
Phoebe is aged 2 from Preston. She was born at 29 weeks and had a traumatic birth and suffered brain damage. As a result of this she has bilateral cerebral Palsy. Cerebral Palsy is damage to the brain that affects movement and co-ordination.
Phoebe cannot walk and does not have full use of her right hand. She is a very determined little girl and is always smiling.
Just4Children are raising funds for SDR surgery and ongoing therapy in the hope that one day she will be able to walk.
Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) is a surgical procedure that aims to reduce spasticity in the lower limbs. Spasticity is the result of an abnormal communication between the brain and the nerves. SDR is effective in treating spasticity by cutting the nerve rootlets in the spinal canal that are sending abnormal signals to the muscles.
We appreciate any help towards this.
