Just4Children are raising funds to provide Luca with therapies and specialist equipment to help give him a fuller and more independent life.
Luca is a bright, beautiful and cheeky 1 year old boy with the most infectious smile and laugh. Luca’s journey is different from most children his age, but even so, Luca is exceeding all expectations and is really showing signs of wanting more for himself in terms of speech and mobility.
Luca has been diagnosed with lissencephaly, a rare brain condition that affects his development, along with epilepsy and infantile spasms, which can be quite overwhelming for both child and parent. Simple things many of us take for granted—sitting up, holding a toy, or even eating – do not come easily for Luca. He has worked hard his whole life and whilst we are seeing his abilities improve and increase each day, he still requires immense effort and specialised support.
Despite these obstacles, Luca is a warrior. His resilience, love, and determination inspire everyone around him. But to give him the best chance at a brighter future, he urgently needs £20,000 for essential therapy and specialist equipment.
These funds will provide Luca with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and sensory equipment to help him strengthen his muscles, improve his coordination, and engage more with the world around him which will hopefully help him become more independent. With the right support, Luca can develop his abilities, experience even more joy, and live a fuller, happier life. Lucas parents are quite confident we will be able to get him walking some day!
