Grayson was born in Basildon at just 26 weeks, weighing less than two pounds, our little warrior entered the world far earlier than expected. We were told to prepare for the worst—but from day one, our baby showed us what true strength looks like.
The first few months were a blur of ventilators, NICU alarms, and countless procedures. The challenges did not end after discharge. Our child was later diagnosed with cerebral palsy, impacting muscle control and mobility. We have watched them work through every movement milestone with determination, never letting limitations define their spirit.
Complications from such an early birth brought additional diagnoses. Chronic lung disease means every cold could become a hospital stay. Epilepsy followed, with seizures that come unannounced, stealing moments but never joy. And due to unsafe swallowing, a gastrostomy tube was placed to ensure proper nutrition and growth.
Life has been anything but easy, but it’s filled with victories—first smiles, first steps with a walker, and the first day of school with supportive aides. Every moment is hard-won, and every bit of progress reminds us of how far our fighter has come.
We are now raising funds for Just4Children to provide intensive therapy sessions, adaptive equipment, and travel to specialized medical appointments. These resources are critical to helping our child reach their fullest potential—and giving them the quality of life they deserve.
