Just4Children are fundraising to ensure Jack and Luke keep their mobility in the future and to ensure they have any surgery, therapies, and specialist equipment that they may require. Any new fundraising may be used for suitable adaptions to the home.
Jack and his twin brother were born 13 weeks premature in 2013. They were diagnosed with PVL and cerebral palsy at the age of 2. Since their diagnosis both boys have undergone Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery. Jack had also had Botox and serial casting whilst Luke went on to have bilateral hamstring lengthening, lengthening and of the calf muscle, botox and serial casting.
Both boys have progressed amazingly. However, each time they have a growth spurt, their muscles get tighter and cause pain and reduces their range of movement.
In order to keep our boys mobile in the future they are likely to require more surgery. They also must continue to wear splints, participate in a high amount of physio each week along side other therapies and disabled sports to keep them as active as possible.
Just4Children are fundraising to enable that our boys can continue with their physio and therapies, to ensure they have access to any equipment that they require and also any new fundraising would cover any costs that may arise due to future adaptations of our home for them.
Jack and Luke are amazing boys. They are always full of laughter and smiles and are an inspiration as to what they have achieved in their young lives. They also have an older brother who is 12 who we are extremely proud of too!
