Just4Children are fundraising to provide Julian with therapy, specialist equipment and hope to lead as full a life as possible.
Julian is 5 from Putney in London. He lives with Costello syndrome. PEG-fed, he is fighting to walk, talk and eat. After NHS funding stopped, we must privately fund therapy and equipment. Please help him thrive.
Julian is the youngest of our three children (his sisters are 16 and 11). We live in Putney, London.
Julian lives with Costello syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects his development and health. In daily life it means that things many children learn naturally—walking, talking, eating—take intensive, specialist support. Julian is currently PEG-fed for most of his nutrition and medication, and we are working toward safe oral feeding over time. He also needs consistent therapy to build strength, balance, mobility and communication.
Behind the scenes, our days revolve around careful feeds, stretching routines, positioning, appointments, and practising the same skills again and again. Progress is often measured in “small wins” that are huge to us: an extra second of balance, a calmer feed, a new sound, a better step.
Until recently, Julian received NHS continuing-care/PHB support. Despite his ongoing complex needs, that funding has been stopped and we have been told he no longer qualifies. The result is a sudden gap in support, and many of the therapies and specialist items that help Julian progress now sit outside what the NHS can provide.
Just4Children are raising £30,000 each year to fund essential private support:
• Mobility therapy: £150/session, at least 2 sessions/week = £15,000 per year
• Speech therapy (communication support): £10,000 per year
• Specialist/adapted equipment (walking frame, adapted bike and other supports): £5,000 per year
Every donation will go directly toward Julian’s therapy and equipment. We’ll share frequent updates with real numbers, what we’ve booked or purchased, and the milestones you are helping to unlock. If you’re able to donate, thank you. If you can’t, sharing this page is powerful too.
Thank you for being part of Julian’s circle and helping him take the next step forward.
