Just4Children are fundraising to make sure that Jamie keeps progressing with his mobility in the future and to ensure that he has access to any surgery, specialist equipment and home adaptations.
Jamie is 9 years old from Liverpool. He suffered 2 significant bleeds on his brain after being born at 30 weeks and was subsequently diagnosed with cerebral palsy. As a result, Jamie suffers from extreme muscle tightness in his legs and cannot stand or walk unaided.
In 2019 Jamie had Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery at Alder Hey in Liverpool. He also had double hip surgery mid pandemic in 2020 as both of his hips had become dislocated due to his Cerebral Palsy. He has needed intensive physiotherapy and other therapies such as conductive education and rebound therapy afterwards to maximise the benefits.
Jamie has progressed immensely since his operations but as he grows the muscle tightness causes more problems and so we really need to continue in all these therapies. In addition, specialised equipment will assist Jamie’s progress too.
In spite of the health problems Jamie has suffered from, he has rarely complained about what life has dealt him and he has endured all his treatment like a trooper. We want to be able to keep him progressing and in the future he will probably require many more surgeries and therapies.
He loves to participate in disabled sports too such as his Cerebral Palsy United Team.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated and would help Jamie fulfil the potential we know he has.
