Hollie’s SDR Journey

Just4children needs your support for Hollie who has cerebral palsy and needs SDR surgery to give her a better quality of life.

Hollie is aged 10 from the Wirral. She was born 3 months early at 28 weeks and 5 days weighting 2lbs 4oz. She spent her first 3 months in the neonatal unit at Arrowe Park Hospital becoming the fighter that she still is to this day. During this time Hollie had a brain scan to reveal she had PVL.

It was only when Hollie was 6 months old that we noticed that her legs were not able to make the same movements as the other babies and there was not much visible development particularly in regards to crawling.

Hollie was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and has worked hard with all the professionals to have a pain free and active life of a normal girl. However, as Hollie is getting bigger, it has caused some pain in her legs now.

We were informed about the SDR operation and know what it can do for children with the same condition as Hollie. It changes a child’s life for the better!

Hollie has a gross motor function level 4 so fails to meet the current NHS funding criteria. So, Just4Children are having to fundraise for this life changing operation for our very funny, caring, always happy, loving and beautiful princess.

Any help in getting us to the target amount would be really appreciated.
