Helping Henri

Just4Children are fundraising to provide Henri with specialist therapies to enable him to walk and become more mobile and independent.

Welcome to our page! We are trying to raise money for Just4Children to provide specialist therapies and equipment to aid our son Henri’s development. We are completely grateful for services Henri receives from the NHS, but they are limited.

Henri is aged 4 from Chichester in West Sussex. When Henri was 5 months old, after a gruelling 2 months in St Peter’s Hospital and under the specialist neurological team at St George’s Hospital in London due to developmental delay and seizures, Henri was finally diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome.

Angelman Syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects the nervous system and causes severe physical and intellectual disability. It is not a disease, it is a neurological disorder that causes severe learning difficulties, and although those affected have a normal life expectancy, they will require looking after throughout their lives.

Henri needs regular physiotherapy to strengthen his muscles and help him develop his motor skills and hopefully lead him to walk. This input would also enable the development of his co ordination to be able to self feed, use his communication devices for a few examples, and to gain his independence.

Thank you
