Hi, I’m Eddie. I’m 15 years old. I have a huge personality and make everyone I meet smile. I was born with cerebral palsy due to a birth injury to my brain. I have against all odds achieved so much. However, this is with the support of my awesome family and specialists who have supported me for the last 15 years.
Everyday is a challenge due to my reduced mobility and dystonia. My speech is affected, therefore is delayed along with swallowing difficulties which can put me at risk of choking. I am fun loving and humorous but I am fair few years behind my age so life can be extra challenging and I require 1:1 support.
Being able to access extra therapies and specialist care equipment improves my strength which enhances my quality of life. Accessing this specialist care is crucial to my wellbeing, keeps me motivated which stops me from regressing and causing further complications. I love life, I just would like it bit easier so I can access as much of a normal life as possible.
