Supporting Stanley

Just4Children are fundraising to enable Stanley to obtain spine surgery called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) in America which would not otherwise be available.

Stanley is a happy cheeky loving 4 year old boy from Sidcup in Kent. After a very long 18 months, endless tests, doctors and two misdiagnosis Stanley received the diagnosis of Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP). This causes Stan to have an increased muscle tone and stiffness (spasticity) in his legs.

Stan has very poor balance which results in him falling over frequently while struggles with normal day to day things such as walking, standing, running and jumping.

We are fundraising for Just4Children to enable us to obtain SDR surgery which could potentially be life changing. Due to this diagnosis the surgery isn’t available in the UK. We are traveling to St Louis in America in April 2020 to see Dr Park and Dr Dobbs.

This is the best opportunity we can give him for a better quality of life. Without the surgery the spasticity will get worse as he grows. We are trying to raise £100,000 to help fund the surgeries, a 4 week stay for intense physio, ongoing physio once home, specialised equipment needed and 2 years rehabilitation.

Any donations would greatly be appreciated.
