Just4Children are fundraising to provide Ernie with targeted specialist care and equipment to enable him to live to the best of his ability with his Cerebral Palsy.
Ernie is a 5-year-old boy from Little Clacton in Essex who has overcome incredible challenges in his short life. He was born prematurely at 30 weeks weighing just 3lb 11oz and suffered a bleed on the brain. Despite this, Ernie has consistently amazed everyone with his positivity and determination.
When Ernie was 2 years old, his physiotherapist noticed signs of Cerebral Palsy. An MRI scan confirmed the diagnosis of Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy, a condition that causes him to have exaggerated reflexes, increased muscle tone, and difficulty with movement and coordination in his legs. As a result, Ernie is unable to walk without assistance and currently uses a variety of walking aids, splints, a lycra suit, and a wheelchair to get around.
Ernie is a candidate for a pioneering surgery called SDR, which has the potential to significantly improve his condition and allow him to live a more independent and fulfilling life. The surgery comes with a long and intense rehabilitation process, and Ernie will need access to the best care and resources to ensure a full recovery and reach his full potential.
That’s where you come in. We are fundraising through Just4Children to provide Ernie with the best possible care and therapies to help him live a full and independent life, despite the challenges of his condition. If you feel moved to support Ernie in his journey, please consider making a charitable donation. Every little bit helps and will be greatly appreciated. With your help, we know that Ernie will become the most amazing super human!
