Steps for Layla marches to £10,000 mark

A £60,000 campaign to help a Swindon toddler stand, walk and run on her own has reached the £10,000 mark in just three months.

Steps for Layla was given another big boost on Saturday when a fundraiser at Charrin’s Bar in Royal Wootton Bassett raised £1,760.

Layla, three, was born with Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy, which means she needs help standing, walking and running about like other toddlers.

Mum Kelly Smith and dad Joe Moger launched Steps for Layla to pay for an operation called selective dorsal rhizotomy which has to be followed by two years of intensive physiotherapy.
