Scarlett is 4 years old from Boston in Lincolnshire. Scarlett was diagnosed with epilepsy when she was 2 and half years old. After a long series of hospital appointments and undergoing different tests Scarlett was also diagnosed with Angelman like Syndrome.

It later transpired that Scarlett has an unsafe swallow which has led to her now being fed through a PEG tube directly into her stomach.

Scarlett will soon be starting a special diet to help control her epilepsy.

We sadly don’t know what her life will be like as Angelman Syndrome children have very limited communication skills and we have been told that she may never walk.Scarlett is such a happy little girl who has been through so much. She is such a little fighter and as a family we will keep fighting for her.

We want to give her the best start in life with more physio and hydrotherapy. There is currently a 4 year wait for Disabled Facilities Grants and so we need to fundraise to adapt our home with a wet room and stair lift to make it easier for her to get around the house a little more as she totally relies on me and her daddy at the moment.

Much love The Smith family
