Just4Children are hoping to help provide life changing therapy and equipment for Oliver to help him thrive and be the best he can.
Oliver is aged 1 from Fleetwood. Through no fault off his own he suffered a brain injury because of a lack of oxygen. This condition is called HIE – Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy.
A term to which has zero explanation into what his future will look like
At 6 days old we were told how lucky we are he has survived at this point and the next year will be the hardest. To be told this was truly heart breaking.
Oliver also has been diagnosed with, a rare type off epilepsy, cerebral palsy, GDD (global developmental delay), hearing loss in both ears, and he can not eat orally nor walk and talk.
But, Oliver has fought off 8 bleeds on his brain while we have managed to have him completely oral fed. His limbs are also moving and he is trying to talk and communicate the best way he can. This has been no easy feat. We have an entire team behind us including a children’s hospice. It has taken hundreds of appointments, hundreds of hours spent in travel and worry and countless questions we simply can not answer.
We are now looking for treatments and specialist equipment the NHS can not supply, in a bid to try and give our shining star the same chance at life everybody should have.
