Scorpions on the Menu
Scorpions and lambs’ testicles will be on the menu at a fundraiser in Reigate for Isaac Manzoor.
12 brave people are to be faced with the food, as part of a “bushtucker trial” challenge inspired by ITV reality series I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
The Hope for Isaac Bushtucker Fun Day is being held on Sunday from midday until 6pm at South Park Football Club.
It has been organised to raise money for 3-year-old Isaac, a South Park boy with spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy, which seriously impairs his muscle co-ordination and often leaves him in a state of constant pain.
His mum Louise Elliott, of Stuart Road, has previously raised £60,000 for her son to have selective dorsal rhizotomy surgery at St Louis hospital in America, which took place in October last year.
More than 25 stalls have been lined up, including those selling crafts, jewellery, cakes, cards and ice cream.
Miss Elliott is one of the 12 taking part and will be eating a tarantula, but for those wanting more traditional food the Horley Lions Club will be putting on a barbeque. Inflatables are also to be set up, with wristbands sold on the day giving people unlimited use of them.
