A charity bike ride organised by West Midlands Police staff has raised thousands of pounds towards a life-changing operation for a two-year old girl from Staffordshire.

Organisers of the annual Wolverhampton to Wales saddle marathon have donated £2,000 so two-year-old Millie Bea Hughes can walk.

Millie Bea, daughter of Detective Constable Natalie Hughes who is part of Wolverhampton CID, has spastic diplegia cerebral palsy. It means the toddler has restricted muscle movement and currently relies on a walking frame or being supported to get around.

She is unable to fully play with her twin brother Evan and the family from Rugeley need £40,000 for a non-NHS funded operation.
