How a miracle baby could one day go to school

The family of a young girl battling a life-threatening condition say they remain determined to raise money for potentially life saving treatment, despite suffering further medical challenges.

Fourteen-month old Lydia Germon was born with Dandy Walker variant, a congenital brain malformation, and hydrocephalus, a build-up of fluid on the brain.

The condition means that in her short life she has already undergone at least ten neurosurgical operations, meningitis and sepsis.

But parents Bethan and Dave, from Gendros, have been pinning their hopes on pioneering neurological treatment in America, setting themselves the target of raising £50,000 to allow her to undergo the treatment in Boston.
