Move a Mountain 4 Marcus
Marcus is aged 9 from Southend on Sea in Essex, one of non-identical twins, and he was born with Cerebral Palsy Spastic Diplegia at 32 weeks old. Because of his condition Marcus cannot walk or even stand unaided.
Please help by giving Marcus the chance to walk alongside his twin brother. Walk with us on this journey.
Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) is a life changing complex spinal operation, the only surgical procedure that permanently reduces or eliminates stiffness and spasticity in the legs. Marcus had SDR in October 2015 and the results since have already shown massive improvements.
The SDR post-op recovery is a 2 year rehabilitation programme and this is a once in a life time opportunity for Marcus to be able to walk.
We need your help to raise the funds to supply 2 years worth of physiotherapy which will cost £23,000. The NHS have provided their quota of physiotherapy and so we are now moving forward to fund our own physiotherapist.
Without this much needed therapy Marcus may never walk and the SDR operation will not be as successful.
