Jax’s Journey

Just4Children ask you to help Jax to walk and be pain free like his triplet brothers by fundraising for his SDR surgery to take the spasticity away in his legs.

Jax is aged 3 from Cardiif and is one of triplets who were born 12 weeks early. In spite of being premature they were all doing very well but then at 3 weeks old whilst still in neo natal Jax caught a deadly bowel infection called NEC that left him seriously ill.

Jax had to have surgery to remove 90% of his large intestine. Jax was given a 50/50 chance of survival. He pulled through but was left with brain damage due to lack of oxygen to the brain. At 1 years of age Jax was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.

Jax cannot stand or walk and suffers with cramps in his legs due to spasticity.

He is a very bright, funny and loving little boy. Now Jax is getting older he is getting very frustrated that he can’t do what his brothers do. We are raising money for Just4Children to support Jax to have spinal surgery called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR). This operation is in America with the best surgeon. £85,000 is needed to get him there and cover the costs of the operation and the intensive therapy afterwards.
