Heroic Mum embarks on Fundraising Mission

Heroic Crawley mum embarks on £80,000 fundraising mission for disabled son’s life changing operation

An inspirational Broadfield mum is embarking on an £80,000 fundraising mission so her disabled son can have a life-changing operation. Katie Finkle spends large parts of her week making regular trips for hospital appointments, because her son Sonny suffers from four limb cerebral palsy, a condition which affects his movement.

Sonny is now two and still cannot sit, stand or walk – but despite this Katie told the Crawley News that Sonny is incredibly determined to walk and always pushes himself to try and make the breakthrough.

In order for Sonny to make that dream become a reality, he must undergo a selective dorsal rhizotomy operation, which will help relax his muscles and tendons, allowing him to move a lot easier. But this operation will cost £60,000 as well as additional costs of £20,000 that will go towards Sonny’s intense physiotherapy after his operation.

It is another unexpected bill that the 25-year-old mother had not planned for.
