Just4Children supports Maia with vital therapy to improve her mobility, strength, and wellbeing, helping her lead a more independent and fulfilling life.
I’d like to share a little about my daughter, Maia. She was born prematurely at just 32 weeks, alongside her twin sister, Sara. Shortly after her first birthday, we learned that Maia has cerebral palsy.
This condition affects her ability to walk, sit, and speak. Now, at 9 years old, Maia has made incredible progress. She communicates much better and her balance and walking have improved significantly. These achievements are thanks to her dedication and the therapy sessions she has worked so hard at over the years.
Maia is full of determination. She wants to do everything on her own and never gives up, even when things are tough. She attends a special needs school and has been receiving therapy at the CPotential Centre since she was three years old. The centre has been life-changing for Maia, helping her grow stronger and more confident.
To continue her progress, Maia relies on a range of therapies:
Conductive Education: Teaches her how to move more independently and helps boost her confidence and social skills.
Physiotherapy: Supports her ability to walk, sit, and manage pain or discomfort.
Occupational Therapy: Helps with everyday tasks like eating, dressing, and playing, while improving her fine motor skills.
Speech and Language Therapy: Focuses on clearer speech and alternative communication tools, such as using an iPad.
As her parents, we want to give Maia every opportunity to live a happy and independent life. However, the ongoing costs of these therapies are substantial. We are raising funds through Just4Children to ensure Maia can continue her care at the CPotential Centre.Your support means the world to us and will help Maia keep reaching new milestones.
Thank you for being part of her journey!
