Just4Children are hoping to raise funds towards mobility equipment and private therapies for Heidi to help her reach her full potential.

Heidi is aged 1 from Cannock in Staffs. At birth, Heidi suffered a HIE event (Hypoxic Ischaemic Encephalopathy). She initially spent 1 month in the hospital which involved cooling treatment, lots of testing and scans. She since has had many appointments, hospital trips and ambulance rides.

As a result of her HIE event, Heidi suffered a brain injury which has led to several diagnosis; epilepsy, hypotonia, global developmental delay, and unsafe swallow which means she is fully tube fed. As Heidi grows we are aware things will change and new issues could arise.

In spite of her difficulties Heidi is determined to gain her independence and progress.

Currently Heidi has many sessions of conductive education, and also lots of stretching and exercising at home. However, we hope to fundraise for Just4Children to provide regular and intensive therapies and equipment not available on the NHS to help to optimise Heidi’s independence, mobility and comfort. This will not only help her to have a more accessible life but can allow her to take part in the same activities as her peers.

We are very grateful for any support we receive as it all helps to give Heidi more opportunities to reach her full potential.
