Anays is aged 4 from Windsor. She has Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and Just4Children want to help her in accessing SDR surgery, therapies, equipment and fulfil her dream of being independent one day.

Anays is a lovely girl who suffered brain damage caused by lack of oxygen either before, during or after her birth. This has led to her having Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. Having Quad CP means that all of her limbs are affected, the muscles in her arms and legs can get very tight and often cause some pain. If this was not enough, Anays also has severe visual impairment.

Anays is not able to do the things that most other children her age or younger can do. She can not sit independently, roll over or wiggle her toes. She is solely dependent on her parents to get her dressed, brush her teeth and put on her shoes. Anays watches and wants to do all the things that other children her age can do, like playing on everything in the park, jumping in a puddle, playing at soft play, riding a bike and just generally being able to move around independently. To be able to stand and walk would be all her dreams come true.

If Anays strengthens her muscles she may be a candidate for an operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR). The surgery would involve cutting the sensory nerve fibres which are sending incorrect signals to her brain. Having this operation would give her a greater chance of being independent and remove any spasticity and tightness that her muscles have, which is something that will get worse as she grows. This could help her walk on her own one day!

The only way to make Anays stronger is by having regular, intensive therapy with specialist equipment, most of which can not be accessed via the NHS.

Her family want to give Anays the best possible chance of independence they can, but this is a cost they just can not meet by themselves and so ask you from the bottom of their hearts to please help Just4Children raise the money needed.

Thank you
