Hairdresser to lose her locks to help ‘cutie pie’

A Deal hairdresser will be waving goodbye to the long tresses she is known for in a bid to raise cash for Theo’s Mission to Walk.

Lisa Fermor, 43, owner of Cherish Hair and Beauty in West Street, has had long hair for 30 years. But, on Monday May 1 as part of a May Day Hair Today Gone Tomorrow event at her salon, she will have it chopped to collar bone length.

Joining her is friend Wendy King, a holistic therapist, whose hair is also the length of her back.

The duo would each like to raise £500 to help pay for a life changing operation for five-year old Theo Knott, of College Road, Deal, who has cerebral palsy.

It is hoped spinal surgery will reduce the tightness in his legs and allow him to walk.

Mrs Fermor, who has a daughter the same age as Theo, said: “I see Theo regularly and he is just an absolute cutie pie.

“It’s going to get harder for him if he doesn’t get this operation.

“I can’t do a lot but this is something I can do.

“I hope people will pop into the salon and donate.”

The women will be donating their hair to the Little Princess Trust who make wigs for children with cancer.

They’re also extending the invitation to others who would be willing to undergo a head shave or a body wax to raise funds for the appeal.
