Please help raise funds for Ryley to have life changing SDR surgery, post-operative care, physiotherapy and specialised equipment to lead a fuller, more independent life – and hopefully learn to walk!
Ryley is aged 2 from Borehamwood. Before he was due to be born we knew he was always going to be a fighter! His 20 week scan showed a problem with his heart, a condition called Pulmonary Stenosis, a Congenital Heart Defect. This was a complete shock and such a worry as he would need heart surgery immediately after birth.
As if that wasn’t enough of a shock, at 29 weeks I went into labour and Ryley was born in a very poor state. We didn’t know whether he would make it. Our beautiful baby boy, 3 months premature and already fighting for his life.
At full term Great Ormand Street Hospital performed major surgery to his heart to repair it. Following that, after various development milestones not met he had an MRI which showed Periventricular Leukomalacia and then Ryley was diagnosed with Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy. We were told that he will probably never walk.
Anyone that knows Ryley know this is not an option. He is like any other little boy who wants to run around with his sisters and kick a football. Please help all you can.
