Just4Children wish to raise funds for specialist physiotherapy for Jaxon to give him the best chance to improve his balance and mobility.
Jaxon Is from Coalville in Leicestershire and was born at 24 weeks in December 2015. Shortly after he was born Jaxon Sustained a grade 4 and 3 bleed to his brain. This has left Jaxon with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy, Hydrocephalus (water on the brain), Epilepsy, nystagmus, global developmental delay, chronic lung disease and sensory processing difficulties.
Since Jaxon’s campaign was created in early 2018 Jaxon has had access to weekly private physiotherapy, intense therapy blocks in Oxfordshire, private speech and language sessions as well as joining the Brainwave program. As a result Jaxon has made considerable marked improvement in all areas of development, despite professionals predicted negative outcomes.
Jaxon’s parents have now been advised that selective dorsal rhizotomy surgery (SDR) is an option for Jaxon. We are raising money for Just4Children to fund pre-and post SDR surgery physiotherapy, essential for ensuring maximum benefit of the surgery is achieved, while maintaining Jaxon’s current level of input ensuring he continues to progress. Transport or accommodation costs during the treatment and any equipment costs are also not funded by the NHS.
