A campaign to raise funds for physiotherapy, support and therapies to help Fatimah walk again.
Fatimah is aged 14 from Retford in Notts. From the age of 6 Fatimah has faced some massive issues resulting in her losing the ability to walk, eat, feed, dress and go to the toilet. She has a demyelinating disease, a condition that results in damage to the protective covering (myelin sheath) that surrounds nerve fibres in her brain, optic nerves and spinal cord. When the myelin sheath is damaged, nerve impulses slow or even stop, causing neurological problems.
The symptoms are similar to MS and Motor Neuron diseases. We need help to stop this muscle wastage and side effects.
She is consigned to a wheelchair all of the time. We hope she can regain some of her abilities she used to have as a young child.
Fatimah needs physiotherapy, occupational therapy, specialist courses, equipment and support to keep her fit and well. Fatimah wishes she can walk again one day and be independent. Please kindly help if you are able to.
We very much appreciate your support.
