Alfie is an identical twin who needs your help to play with his brother Rory. He has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy and a profound hearing loss. Please help us to change Alfie’s life.
Just4Children need your help to fundraise for therapy, equipment and specialist treatment for Alfie.
Alfie and Rory are MCDA twins from Newcastle upon Tyne who were born at 33 weeks. They developed acute twin to twin transfusion syndrome, where Alfie had less than 1% blood flow. It was unclear whether either of them would survive.
Alfie came home on oxygen after 10 weeks in neonatal intensive care. Shortly after this he was diagnosed as profoundly deaf in both ears. At around 9 months old Alfie was diagnosed with cerebral palsy.
Alfie has since had cochlear implants and is learning to hear with them. Though this has changed his life, he still cannot play with his twin fully and has no independence. It’s heartbreaking to see.
Please donate and help us to change Alfie’s life. He truly is the happiest little boy, but would love to be able to play with his brother!
