To help raise money for a medical safety sleeper which can be used day and night so that Alfie can feel relaxed and safe indoors.
Alfie is 5 from Bilston in West Midlands. He has sensory processing disorder on the autism spectrum.
Alfie endured a tough start to life with many other problems. He suffers with severe anxiety, having many attacks, particularly getting over whelmed in crowded places with the noise.
Normal day to day tasks are hard for him including school. He needs a quiet room during the day as he will stress about school play, lunch time, fire alarms, PE and many other things. He constantly must know what he is doing through the day and thrives on a daily routine. If this breaks for any reason he can have melt downs and lash out which he can do at any time. Therefore, he needs constant supervision to keep him safe.
We have to do many things with him advised by his O.T including deep pressure massage and regular sensory exercises. All of this is so over whelming for him so he has great difficulty feeling safe and relaxed. Sleeping he can have as little as 1 hour sleep a night as he is still processing what’s happened through the day.
The safety sleeper will help him feel safe improving his quality of life and helping him reach his full potential.
