Joshie’s Journey

Just4Children needs to raise money for specialist intensive therapy and equipment to help Joshie learn to stand and walk unaided.

Joshua Louie is from Leicestershire. He was born premature on 8th April 2013 with bacterial meningitis and bronchial pneumonia. The results of this were damage to his brain and the diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. Cerebral Palsy is a condition that affects his gross and fine motor skills and in particular his core muscle strength causing him to be floppy and unable to move around, stand, walk and talk.

Joshie wears a specialist second skin suit every day under his clothes which has helped a little with muscle strength and he can now sit for short periods on his own. However, as his parents we are determined to leave any stone unturned in our quest to help him to stand and walk independently one day.

To do this we have to pay for private physiotherapy and intensive courses and have been doing this independently until now. But Joshie needs much more of this therapy and more regularly. He also needs specialist equipment which isn’t provided by NHS including a bath and shower seat.
