We are raising money for Just4Children to support Holly to have Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery (SDR) followed by intensive physiotherapy that is not available in the NHS.

Holly is our beautiful and determined 5 year old daughter from Bromley in Kent. She was born 3 months early and as a result has spastic diplegic cerebral palsy. Holly’s cerebral palsy mainly affects her mobility and means she cannot walk unaided.

We dream that one day our Holly will be able to enjoy the independence that other children have. We dream that she will be able to enjoy simple things like a climbing frame and trampoline; that she will be able to move more freely and be able to play more easily and independently with her siblings and friends.

Holly has been assessed and deemed suitable for SDR surgery. It is this surgery which gives Holly her best hope.

The operation involves cutting nerves in her spinal cord which cause muscle stiffness. Permanently removing the spasticity, coupled with prolonged physiotherapy may assist with her walking, standing and general movement.

The most heartbreaking thing is that this is not available on the NHS and is why we are asking for help.
