Dalia is aged 3 from Kilburn in London. We are raising money for Just4Children to support life changing surgery to help Dalia walk.
Dalia was born 8 weeks early, the surviving baby of Mono-Mono twins (her identical twin sister died at 29 weeks) which resulted in a brain injury called periventricular leukomalacia (PVL).
At 18 months old Dalia was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy which has prevented the normal development of her motor function.
Through Just4Children we are hoping to raise enough money in order for Dalia to undergo life changing Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) surgery which is not currently funded by the NHS. This surgery will eliminate the excessive stiffness in the muscles in her legs which affects her balance and posture and ultimately prevents her from walking independently. Without this surgery Dalia’s condition will deteriorate over time. The effects of the spasticity will result in constant pain, shortening of her muscles and bone deformities.
All the money raised will go towards her surgery and rehabilitation. Thank you for your help making Dalia’s dream of a healthy future a reality.
