Cooper desperately needs a downstairs bedroom due to his disabilities. It is becoming too difficult carrying him up and downstairs to his bedroom.
Cooper and his twin brother were born in April 2013 in Clackmannan. Cooper has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus and quadraplegic cerebral palsy with dystonia. He is unable to sit on his own or walk but he has mastered how to roll!
Cooper relies on us to carry him around and as he is getting older, bigger and heavier, we are starting to struggle carrying him up and downstairs to his bedroom. What we would like to do, is build a bedroom downstairs for Cooper with access to the garden. Due to Cooper’s disabilities, he has a variety of equipment which we use to help him. He has a standing frame, supportive seating and a wheelchair.
However, we are unable to access the garden with this equipment at present. If Just4Children could give Cooper a bedroom downstairs on ground level, he could have full access to a safe space outside and hopefully through time, a sensory garden.
Our main priority is the bedroom as we need to make sure Cooper and ourselves are safe carrying him as, at the moment we are struggling with this.
