Just4Children aim to raise funds to provide Alfie with the equipment and physio he needs to continue improving strength and mobility. He is one determined little boy who deserves all the help we can give.
Alfie is 3 from Frinton on Sea in Essex. Alfie’s world was turned upside down in October 2016 when he was rushed to hospital following a massive seizure that required sedation and ventilation. Up until then he had been a mischievious 2 year old, full of character and endless energy, a real chatterbox with the most amazing cheeky smile.
We were told Alfie had a condition called ADEM which was damage to the nerve linings in his brain. We were in shock but remained positive when told he would recover within a year. Within weeks Alfie had worsened and could no longer speak or sit unaided. Alfie has undergone many tests to establish what is wrong and we know he has a degenerative neurological disorder. Whilst there is no cure we know regular physiotherapy is making a difference and we are seeing Alfie become stronger.
We want to provide Alfie with the best opportunity to have some independence which will come from physio and specialist equipment to help his mobility.
Thank you for taking the time to read Alfie’s story.
