Just4Children are fundraising for Ollie to have life changing surgery called SDR (Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy) and the much need equipment and physiotherapy needed before and after the surgery.
Oliver is aged 5 from Stafford. He was born prematurely at 36 weeks with periventricular leukomalacia (PVL) which led on to him being diagnosed with diplegia cerebral palsy affecting his lower limbs.
Oliver has been accepted for SDR surgery at Alder Hey children’s hospital in Liverpool. This operation will be life changing for Oliver. It will permanently reduce the spasticity in his muscles which stop his progression and will stop his muscles spams and he will be pain free!
On 1st March 2019 Ollie will be having his life changing SDR surgery. We are very lucky to have been accepted for NHS funded surgery as only children with level 2 and 3 cerebral palsy aged between 3-9 are eligible. We are still fundraising for the vital physiotherapy and equipment needed post surgery. We are hoping to raise £30,000 for 2 years of physiotherapy and equipment.
We will be organizing some Fun Family Fundraising events for everyone to enjoy and help Just4Children ‘Stand Up 4 Ollie’!
