Sonny from Crawley in West Sussex was born at 29 weeks premature which was the scariest experience of my life. Sonny has always had so much fight and is the strongest happiest determined little boy. Just before Sonny’s first birthday it was confirmed that Sonny has four limb cerebral palsy which affects his ability to sit and walk mainly.
Sonny is now 2 years old and still can’t sit, stand or walk. Despite this he doesn’t give up and pushes himself everyday. All Sonny wants to do is be able to walk around and be involved in activities his friends are able to do.
Sonny has recently got a walker which he will use occasionally but it still restricts him as he can’t bend down to get toys or kick a ball, so he gets very frustrated. Sonny needs this selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) operation and we are hoping we will be able to have this by the time he is 4.
Sonny wants to be as independent as possible and for Sonny’s dream to come true would change his whole life, and as Sonny’s mother I am determined to make this dream come true and to let Sonny shine xxx
