Lily is a 4 year old girl who has cerebral palsy from Ringlestone, near Maidstone in Kent. We are raising money for Just4Children to help Lily have a procedure called selective dorsal rhizotomy.
Lily dreams of being able to run, leap, and dance with her friends. She has a smile as wide as the ocean. She is cheeky, intelligent, determined and outgoing.
Lily was born prematurely on Christmas Eve. We knew to expect that she may not meet the same milestones as other babies and toddlers, but as a mum and dad we instinctively knew that it was more than just her prematurity. Lily was meeting her needs with her verbal communication and understanding, but still had not crawled at the age of 2.
When we finally received a diagnosis of cerebral palsy we knew that the future would be different for Lily but Lily showed us how determined she is. Lily crawled at 2 and half and now Lily walks with the aid of a frame. Lily has been accepted for selective dorsal rhizotomy at Great Ormond Street Hospital. This will give her better mobility and increase her life chances, reduce spasticity in her lower limbs and allow her to do all things little girls dream of.
