We are trying to raise enough money for Just4Children to bring Aoibheann to Scotland for ABR therapy to hopefully ease the physical constraints of her cerebral palsy.
Aoibheann is 2 years old from Newtonabbey in County Antrim. She was born at 28 weeks and due to a brain haemorrhage shortly after birth she developed hydrocephalus and cerebral palsy, which affects all her limbs. Last year she has also developed epilepsy.
Life for Aoibheann isn’t easy. Everyday tasks can be very difficult for her as her body doesn’t work as it should. She still can’t sit or stand unaided but is making progress slowly.
Despite her difficulties Aoibheann is an upbeat and friendly young girl who enjoys reading books, drawing and going out and about in her pacer. This gives us a glimpse of how life could be for her if we could improve her physical capabilities.
ABR offers us the chance to give her this life. It promises to improve the muscular and skeletal structure of cerebral palsy children when used in the correct way as the exercise plans are tailor made for each individual. It is not a miracle cure. It is a lot of hard work but we are committed to giving Aoibheann the brightest future possible.
