Just4Children are raising funds for an extension and multiple adaptions so that Charlie can be as independent as possible.
Charlie was born prematurely at 30 weeks in 2014. He and his twin both have some form of Cerebral Palsy. Charlie is a fulltime wheelchair user and needs lots of help with day to day tasks, such as washing.
We have plans to build a side extension which will make our kitchen and dining room wheelchair accessible, with a wheelchair friendly door to access the outside safely.
Upstairs will be Charlie’s new bedroom with ceiling hoist track and fully accessible wetroom and toilet. To get to his new bedroom will be a large glass lift which Charlie will be able to operate himself.
We are applying to the council for a DFG (disability facility grant) but this is capped at £30k. Therefore, Just4Children need to raise the additional funds.
This will be lifechanging for Charlie and enable him to live with us and be as independent as possible for the rest of his life.
