Alannah’s Wish2Walk
Just4Children want to helping provide Alannah with the therapy and specialist equipment she needs to get the most out of life.
Alannah is 9 years old and lives in Nottingham. She was born prematurely and diagnosed with bi-lateral quadriplegic cerebral palsy, which means she is affected in all four limbs and as such cannot walk, stand or crawl. She is also non-verbal. However, she uses Eye Gaze technology and she has a lot to say!
Her disability affects her in a physical capacity, so she is a typical little girl with a big personality full of sass! This can be frustrating for her as she has to rely on those around her to do the physical stuff and attend to her every want and need. This is usually related to Barbie dolls, her favourite TV programme or snacks!
The aim of this campaign is to raise funds for Just4Children to provide pieces of equipment and therapy to enable her to be more independent, and develop her ability in some of the physical challenges that she faces.
SDR surgery is not going to be the right route for Alannah, but this does not mean she is free from procedures as she has had two hip operations already. The equipment and therapy she needs to try and prevent further treatment comes at a cost, but really does make a difference that has been seen in the past with fundraising previously completed.
Alannah hasn’t had the easiest start in life, however she deserves the best and we want to make her future progress as easy as possible for her.
