Just4Children want to raise funds for vital equipment and life changing pioneering therapies to allow Vega to reach her full potential and provide her with the opportunities she deserves.
is 2 years old and from Marbury in Cheshire. She was born in January 2021 at full term, after a healthy pregnancy. What was supposed to be the best day of our lives turned into the worst. As Vega was placed on her mum’s chest, the silence filled the room and everyone started calling her name. Quickly it was discovered that she didn’t have a pulse. She was blue and silent. She had to be resuscitated, be ventilated, and undergo hypothermic cooling therapy in front of her father. As he went back to check on Vega’s mum, she was bleeding excessively in front of him and was wheeled of to emergency surgery. It is a miracle that they’re both here today. Vega was several days old when her parents got to hold her for the first time and were devastatingly told that she suffered brain damage, resulting in Cerebral Palsy affecting all of her body.
Vega’s mum has given up work to do therapy with Vega for several hours a day, and the entire family has relocated to be nearer one of Vega’s therapists. She is learning to sit and is working on reaching for toys, standing with loads of support and gaining better control of her arm and hand movements.
Vega is a bright, sociable and happy little girl who deserves all the help she can get to gain as much independence as possible and to reach her full potential. We hope that with the right treatment she will one day be able to do all the things that little girls should be able to do, like sit and play, walk, talk and simply enjoy life.
She has already come so far and has done better than expected due to private therapies and equipment. All of this comes at a great cost.
For the future the hope is for Vega to receive life changing stemcell therapy overseas and be able to access intensive specialized therapy afterwards such as Hyberbaric Oxygen Therapy. She also requires specialist orthopaedic suits (DMO Lycra), AFO’s and other specialist equipment. These things are unfortunately not available on the NHS.
Every donation no matter how small will have a big impact on the rest of her life.
Thank you
