Able2B Official Opening Day
The service is already building from a single small class in a local boxing club. We have developed the concept further reaching a wider audience and other client groups e.g. those with learning difficulties and the deaf and partially sighted. We are also developing projects with both mainstream and special needs schools. We have again been nominated as one of the three finalists for the Active Norfolk Ward for ‘Services to Disability Sport’ this year, having won it last year.
On gaining access to the gym in July, we started to furnish and equip it as funds have become available and although not complete in this mission, we wanted to recognise our move to this specialised facility and thank our sponsors by celebrating with an ‘Official Opening Day Event”, to which we have invited the press, local people and local charities and businesses that may be interested.
The aim of the day, as well as having fun, was to showcase what we are doing and an opportunity for everyone to meet the team, learn more about our concept and future plans, discuss our vision for collaborative working with local business and schools and meet and welcome new people.
There was also a 4 hour sponsored Boxathon, to raise money for new equipment and to give the opportunity for everyone to have a go!
