Go Team Elmo campaign has a ball!
Fundraisers had a ball in aid of a little boy battling a brain injury.
The Go Team Elmo campaign raised tens of thousands of pounds to fund therapy and treatment for Elliot Michelson, from Bishop’s Stortford.
Elliot, nicknamed Elmo, who is approaching his second birthday, suffered a brain injury after being born six weeks prematurely.
The fundraising campaign, spearheaded by Elliot’s mum Sophie Michelson, held a ball in his honour at the Radisson Blu hotel in Stansted.
Sophie said: “The night was a great success – it went better, in fact, than we could ever have imagined.
“More than £40,000 was raised for the Go Team Elmo campaign, and we are just completely humbled by the whole experience.”
The night was hosted by Gavin Inskip and featured a performance from singer Amie Clapson, an auction supported by local businesses, magician Andy Jamieson and a photo booth provided by Matthew Lawton.
Guest came from as far afield as the Netherlands, Ireland and Italy and included EastEnders actress Natalie Cassidy.
It was also supported by GR8 Tool hire, Pro 84 , Forge Homes, Simply Teeth, Carla at Elegant Stems and Justin from Evolution Event Hire, and was sponsored by Martin Zelley of Zelley Jewellers and Derek and Elaine of RDT Office Solutions.
