Dylan has epilepsy and Just4Children need help to fund the cost of brio wrist sensor, so the parents would be alerted when he has a seizure.
Dylan is 4 year old from York who has been diagnosed with epilepsy. He has tonic clonic seizures that can happen any time of the day or night. We are finding it hard since his diagnosis and are frightened that he is having more nocturnal seizures that we don’t know about.
He has woke up some mornings and we think he might had one throughout the night but there is no way of knowing for certain as my son never remembers them happening. Also, there is the risk of SUDEP which has been shown to be connected with seizures, particularly tonic-clonic seizures.
So, we don’t get much sleep and most night he sleeps in our bed, just so we can keep an eye on him. Therefore, we feel getting my son a brio wrist sensor will help our family a lot so we will be alerted when the seizures happen and we will be able to support him. Also, he can sleep in his own room and we would have piece of mind knowing we would be alerted if he had a seizure.
